Sprint has several different wireless phone plans available for families to share minutes, or even receive unlimited talk minutes every month. Web surfing, email, and texting options are also available for the wide variety of smart phones offered by Sprint. To enjoy a Sprint family wireless phone plan, a Sprint phone is necessary, and new customers are expected to sign a contract for up to two years of service with a new wireless phone plan.
Sprint Calling Plans for Families with Limited Talk Minutes
Sprint offers several calling plans that limit the talk minutes available each month. These plans are perfect for families who spend more time texting and surfing than talking. Choose from a simple calling plan with talk minutes only, an unlimited text messaging plan, or unlimited text and web surfing. Overage charges range from $0.25 to $0.45 per minute, so watch your usage carefully when choosing one of these plans. The minutes must be shared by all the family members in the plan, and all of these plans include unlimited mobile to mobile calling and free nights and weekends beginning at 7 PM on Fridays.
- Talk for Family includes 700 minutes for the family to share. The cost is $69.99 per month for the first two lines, and up to three additional lines can be added for $9.99 each per month. This plan does not include web, data, or text messaging, and overages are charged $0.45 per minute.
- Everything Data Family 1500: Includes unlimited data, text and web with 1500 talk minutes for the family to share. The cost is $129.99 for the first two lines, and $19.99 for each additional line to a maximum of three.
- Everything Data Family 3000: Includes unlimited text messaging, data transfers and web surfing with 3000 shared talk minutes for a cost of $169.99 for the first two lines. Additional lines are $19.99 per month.
- Everything Messaging Family 1500: Includes unlimited text messaging with 1500 shared talk minutes for a cost of $99.99 for the first two lines, and $9.99 per month for each additional line.
- Everything Messaging Family 3000: Includes unlimited text messages and 3000 talk minutes for $149.99 for the first two lines. Additional lines may be added for $9.99 each per month.
Sprint Family Plans with Unlimited Wireless Phone Service and Unlimited Text and Data Plans
When overages are a problem, an unlimited plan may be more appropriate. Unlimited service plans are more expensive overall than limited plans, so consider this option carefully to avoid wasting money unnecessarily. In many cases, only unlimited text or surfing minutes are necessary, and the family can make due with limited talk minutes.
- Simply Everything Family Plan from Sprint includes unlimited talk, web, data transfers, and text. The Simply Everything Plan also includes Sprint TV and Radio. The cost for the Simply Everything Family Plan is $189.98 for the first two lines, and up to three additional lines can be added for $89.99 each per month.
- Everything Data Family includes unlimited text, email and web surfing. Purchase 1500 talk minutes for $129.99 for two lines or 3000 talk minutes for $169.99 for the first two lines. These minutes are shared by all family members in the wireless plan. Up to three additional lines can be added for $19.99 each per month.
- Everything Messaging Family offers unlimited text messages with limited talk minutes. Text messages includes text, picture and video messages. 1500 talk minutes with the Every Messaging Family Sprint calling plan costs $99.99 and 3000 minutes costs $149.99 per month. Up to three additional lines can be added for $9.99 per month.
Sprint Phone Plan Fine Print
Every wireless phone company has its own fine print, and Sprint Wireless Plans are no different. Sprint's definition of nights is Monday through Friday from 7 PM to 7 AM, and weekends are 7 PM Friday to 7AM Monday for the purposes of free nights and weekend benefit.
In addition to the regular monthly fee for services, Sprint may charge an administrative fee, regulatory charge, gross receipts recovery fee, state and local taxes, states and local 911 charges, and federal and state universal service fund assessment. This list is not exhaustive. The additional fees charged varries by state and can exceed 12% of your monthly bill. Unless specifically stated as taxes, these charges are all fees charged by Sprint and are not state or federal taxes.
Sprint requires a contract and charges up to $200 in cancellation fees per line if the contract is terminated early. An activation fee of $36 per phone may also be required, and a deposit of up to $1000 may be necessary in some instances to begin service. Unused minutes are not carried forward to the next month, and all minutes used are rounded up.
